The International Cotton Association (ICA) has placed 84 Pakistani textile mills on its defaulter’s list and stopped them from trading in international markets.
These mills failed to honor their cotton purchase agreements, leading the ICA to instruct its members not to engage in any deals with them. The defaulters are primarily from Karachi and Lahore while others are located in Faisalabad, Multan, Hyderabad, Kasur, and Gadoon, local media reported today.
Many of these mills are partially or fully closed.
