In a shocking revelation, billions of rupees have been illegally siphoned from Pakistan’s Federal Consolidated Fund without the federal government’s approval.
The scandal came to light after the Peshawar High Court suspended an order issued by a lower court in Nowshera, which had directed the attachment of the Federal Consolidated Fund.
Sources told ProPakistani that they have uncovered a scheme operating under the guise of judicial compensation, in blatant violation of Article 78 of the Constitution of Pakistan, which mandates that no funds can be released from the national treasury without the approval of the National Assembly.
According to sources, certain groups have turned natural disasters and traffic accidents into a multi-million-rupee racket. These operators allegedly target grieving families, file court cases in their name, and secure compensation orders without informing or involving the federal government.
Courts have reportedly issued direct orders to the federal government for payments, which are then forwarded to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
Even more alarming, the SBP allegedly is said to have been executing these orders without verifying their legality or seeking federal approval, effectively turning the central bank into a silent accomplice in the fraud.
Sources further revealed that Sindh has become a hub for such cases, with dozens of questionable claims resulting in unauthorized withdrawals from public funds.
ProPakistani sought a response from the State Bank of Pakistan, but had not received one by the time of publication.
