Cabinet Fails to Approve Phase-II of Rightsizing After Ministers Reject Key Recommendations

The federal cabinet under the leadership of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif failed to approve Phase-II of the rightsizing agenda during its meeting today after federal ministers rejected key recommendations of the rightsizing committee. Recommendations pertaining to the rightsizing of five ministries were presented for discussion. However, the cabinet refrained from approving the second phase of the initiative due to opposition from several federal ministers, sources told ProPakistani. Prime Minister Sharif instructed the rightsizing committee to revisit and reformulate its recommendations in light of the concerns raised. The revised proposals will be submitted for approval at the next federal cabinet meeting. The move to streamline government operations and improve efficiency has been met with mixed reactions, as stakeholders struggle to agree on key items.
