Customs Seize E-Cigarettes, Vape Flavors Worth Rs. 140 Million at Karachi Port
Pakistan Customs has successfully prevented the smuggling of high-value goods worth Rs. 140 million at Karachi’s Qasim International Container Terminal (QICT), officials said Friday. According to Deputy Collector Raza Naqvi, the container was imported from Malaysia and falsely declared as aluminum foil scrap under the Export Facilitation Scheme (EFS). However, a detailed examination revealed a stash of undeclared items, including medical equipment, e-cigarettes, vape flavors, and lithium batteries. The 40-foot container, which had cleared through the Green Channel, was intercepted based on a tip-off. Documentation falsely claimed a shipment of 81,950 kilograms of aluminum foil. Customs has seized the goods and registered a case against the importer, Domestic Industries. Further investigations are currently underway.
