FBR Decides to Reshuffle Over 200 Tax Officers Over Poor Performance
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has finalized a major reshuffle of more than 200 officers of Grade 17 and 18 from the Inland Revenue Service due to poor performance of field formations, sources told ProPakistani. The transfers and postings are expected to be notified within the week. In the second phase, Grade 19 and 20 officers will also be reshuffled. Sources said the authorized authority has approved the transfer of over 40 percent of officers in Grades 17 and 18. Additionally, a plan has been drafted to restructure the FBR board by replacing several members. The decision comes after internal meetings where FBR officials devised a strategy to ensure the achievement of monthly revenue targets. The Prime Minister has taken direct responsibility for overseeing enforcement and policy, with the clear mandate that revenue goals must be met through urgent and effective measures.
