The surge in gold prices continued across both local and international markets, with the price per tola reaching Rs. 319,000 in Pakistan on Wednesday.
The price went up by Rs. 1,650 per today in the local market, taking it to a fresh all-time high.
Similarly, the price of 10-gram gold rose by Rs. 1,415, bringing it to Rs. 273,491, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
On Tuesday, the price of gold per tola had already seen a significant increase of Rs. 2,550, reaching a then-record high of Rs. 317,350.
The global gold market also saw an uptick on Wednesday, with the international price rising by $16 to settle at $3,038 per ounce (including a $20 premium), as reported by APGJSA.
