The government left the price of petrol unchanged while increasing the rate of high-speed diesel (HSD) for the second half of September, the Finance Division notified.
According to the notification, the price of petrol will remain at Rs. 264.61 per litre. High-speed diesel, however, has been raised by Rs. 2.78 to Rs. 272.77 per litre.
In the last review, the government cut HSD prices by Rs. 3 per litre, fixing them at Rs. 269.99, while petrol remained unchanged at Rs. 264.61. At that time, the price of superior kerosene oil was reduced by Rs. 1.46 to Rs. 176.81 per litre, and light diesel oil by Rs. 2.40 to Rs. 159.76.
