Govt Cancels Eid Holidays for Key Staff to Complete FY26 Budget

The Ministry of Finance has cancelled Eid-ul-Azha holidays for key members of staff involved in the finalization of budget documents for the fiscal year 2025-26. Employees directly working on the budget have been instructed to remain on duty on June 6, 8, and 9. These are the dates that fall within the Eid holiday period. The Ministry has also directed all other staff to always be near their phones to ensure uninterrupted coordination during the break. A post-budget press conference is scheduled for June 11. The Finance, alongside other government officials, will address key budget laws which will be approved a day earlier during both lower and upper sessions of parliament.
