Govt Drops Gas Price Bomb on SNGPL and SSGCL Consumers

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced revised gas prices for the fiscal year 2025-26 for SNGPL and SSGCL, effective from July 1, 2025. “The Federal Government, in response to OGRA’s determinations of SNGPL & SSGCL of estimated revenue requirement for FY 2025-26, has advised revised category-wise natural gas sales effective July 01, 2025. The Federal Government has decided to revise the gas sale price of Bulk consumers, General Industry (Process) and Power,” said a spokesperson of OGRA on Sunday. The monthly fixed charges for domestic consumers (protected and non-protected) have also been increased. However, the gas sale prices for the rest of the categories, i.e. Domestic consumers (slab-wise domestic rate), Special Commercial (Roti Tandoors), Commercial, General Industry (Captive), CNG, Cement, Fertiliser, have been kept unchanged. The same has been notified by OGRA in the Official Gazette and is also placed on its official website (www.ogra.org.pk).
