Govt to Set Aside Rs. 50 Billion Development Funds for Parliamentarians
The federal government has proposed an allocation of Rs. 50 billion in the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) 2025–26 for parliamentarians under Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), sources told ProPakistani. This allocation serves as a countrywide funding instrument to implement local-level schemes in line with SDG targets, particularly in areas such as education, health, water, sanitation, and rural infrastructure. More importantly, it serves the political careers of politicians to keep their vote banks alive and secure. In addition, several other federal initiatives have been added to the PSDP project list for implementation next fiscal year. These include: The consolidated SDG-related portfolio spans multiple ministries and sectors, with funding structured to address local service delivery, human development, and climate resilience.
