The Ministry of IT and Telecom and Ignite National Technology Fund will set up two outdoor Digital Learning Pods in Islamabad as part of the Digital Roshni initiative.
The pods, to be installed at F-9 Park and Saidpur Village, will offer free digital education in open public spaces, marking a major effort to reduce digital inequality under the Prime Minister’s Digital Pakistan Vision.
According to project details, each pod will function as a community-centered learning space equipped with a large digital screen, seating area, stable internet, and backup power to ensure uninterrupted access.

The content will be available entirely in Urdu and designed for children, youth, women, persons with disabilities, and the transgender community.
Digital Roshni’s curriculum spans digital literacy, freelancing basics, civic awareness, financial education, health and hygiene, and introductory lessons on emerging technologies including Artificial Intelligence.
Each pod will have a dedicated facilitator responsible for running daily sessions, helping visitors navigate content, and maintaining equipment.
Ignite said the modular structures are weather-resistant and designed for continuous community use.
To ensure broad participation, the initiative includes outreach partnerships with NGOs, civil society groups, and local influencers.
The 13-month pilot will also test a sustainability model that requires the implementing organization to secure sponsorships or partnerships for long-term operations, enabling future expansion to other cities if the model succeeds.
