Kot Addu Power Company Limited (PSX: KAPCO) announced on Thursday that the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved a provisional tariff for its 500-megawatt (MW) project, comprising Block I and Block II.
Details of the approved tariff terms and conditions were submitted as Annex A in the stock filing by KAPCO on Thursday.
In a disclosure to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, KAPCO said the provisional tariff was granted under Rule 4(7) of the NEPRA Tariff (Standards and Procedure) Rules, 1998, following the company’s submission of an addendum to its original tariff petition dated February 12, 2025.
The company clarified that while the application for a final tariff determination remains under review, the approved provisional tariff allows KAPCO to move forward with preparations for commercial operations. The plant’s operations are expected to begin once all necessary regulatory and corporate approvals are completed.
