The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has notified a drop of up to 1.9 percent in Regassified Liquified Natural Gas (RLNG) price for Sui Northern Pipeline Gas Limited (SNGPL) and increased by 0.45 percent for Sui Southern Gas Pipeline Limited (SSGCL) in January 2025.
According to the new rates, the maximum RLNG prices notified for SNGPL for transmission decreased to $11.72 MMBtu in January as compared to $11.96 per MMBtu reported in December, depicting a drop of 1.98 percent or $0.24 per MMBtu in prices.
The maximum RLNG prices notified for SNGPL distribution to $12.66 MMBtu in January as compared to $12.89 per MMBtu reported in December, depicting a drop of 1.81 percent or $0.23 per MMBtu in prices.
Moreover, the maximum RLNG prices notified for SSGCL increased for transmission to $10.58 per MMBtu in January as compared to $10.54 per MMBtu reported in December, showing a 0.44 % or $0.46 per MMBtu upsurge in prices.
The maximum RLNG prices notified for SSGC increased for distribution to $12.60 per MMBtu in December as compared to $12.54 per MMBtu reported in December, showing a 0.45 percent or $0.55 per MMBtu upsurge in prices.
The variation in prices reflected the downward trend in the international market which continued to record in recent months. Besides, the stability of the local currency against the Dollar also added a slight impact on the RLNG prices in the domestic market.
