Pakistan’s Most Powerful Tractors Are Coming to the Market

Pak Tractor Manufacturing Company is introducing three new tractor models with horsepower ranging from 105 to 140, which is significantly higher than the current 75 HP machines commonly used by farmers. CEO Humza Wazir exclusively told ProPakistani that the new models are being brought in through a collaboration with YTO Group, the largest tractor manufacturer in China. Initially, the company will import Completely Built Units (CBUs), but plans are in place to set up a local assembly line within a year. The models being introduced include 105 HP, 120 HP, and 140 HP. The company says it is starting where the existing machines max out, as current market players are offering tractors with up to just 85 HP. Pakistan currently has about 1,000 to 2,000 high-powered tractors in full operation. The company aims to add 500 to 1,000 new units annually in the first phase, the CEO added. Alongside this, it plans to run awareness campaigns to create new demand and help phase out outdated equipment. Dealers will handle customer bookings, while the company will directly accommodate bulk orders from corporate farmers and institutional buyers, getting 10-30 units in one go. “Our dealers will take care of bookings for the tractors because typically in the Pakistani market, companies don’t directly arrange bookings for customers unless the order is big,” the top executive added. The new tractors will be included in the government’s upcoming interest-free loan scheme, which covers high-powered machinery such as tractors, planters, and harvesters.
