PM Shehbaz Eager to Work With US President Donald Trump
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his desire to work with US President Donald Trump. He said this during a meeting with US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker. He said the coalition government wanted to boost cooperation in trade, information technology, agriculture, health, education, and energy. He also stressed the need for collaboration in combating threats from the militant groups. The envoy assured him of the US government’s willingness to advance shared objectives and enhance cooperation. Shockingly for the current government, no high-level contacts have so far taken place between Islamabad and Washington since Donald Trump’s return to the White House last month. Meanwhile, during a federal cabinet meeting on the same day, the premier was briefed that the government’s e-office initiative had been implemented in 98 percent of the federal divisions. He directed concerned officials to ensure complete implementation across all ministries by March. He also informed the cabinet that Saudi Arabia’s $100 million per month deferred payment facility for petroleum products had been extended for another year.
