PM Shehbaz Receives Plan for Transfer of Chinese Industries to Pakistan
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday received a comprehensive roadmap for the transfer of Chinese industries to Pakistan.
During a review meeting, the premier was informed about collaborative plans with Chinese companies to bring textile, medical & surgical equipment, plastic, and leather industries to Pakistan.
The prime minister instructed relevant institutions and officials to provide all necessary support to facilitate the transfer of Chinese industries to Pakistan. He warned that no delays in implementing MoUs with China would be tolerated.
Shehbaz said China’s long-standing support for Pakistan and noted the Chinese leadership’s commitment to increasing investment in the country. He opined that the transfer of Chinese industries would boost Pakistan’s economy, create new jobs, and enhance exports.
During the meeting, various projects were discussed. The Minister for Planning provided an update on his recent visit to China. It was revealed that the Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway would be completed through a Public-Private Partnership.
The meeting also discussed plans to transition power plants from imported coal to local coal and announced an upcoming roadshow in Beijing to attract investors/businesses to Pakistan.
