The Prime Minister has taken notice of the recent increase in salaries and allowances for the Chairman and Commissioners of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).
A committee, headed by Rana Sanaullah, has been formed to review the matter.
The committee will examine all aspects of the pay and allowance hike and is expected to submit its recommendations to the Prime Minister within two weeks.
The committee has also been tasked with proposing measures to enhance transparency, accountability, and oversight in regulatory bodies.
Officials say the review aims to ensure that any changes in compensation are justified and that regulatory institutions operate with greater openness and effective supervision.
