PSW Integrates DRAP Export Services into Digital Platform for Pharma Sector
Pakistan Single Window (PSW) has integrated key export-related services of the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) into its digital platform, enabling seamless processing and authentication of pharmaceutical export documents. The new PSW-DRAP Clearance Gateway provides a one-window facility for five essential services, including entity and product registration, export permits, Certificates of Pharmaceutical Product (COPP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certifications, and Free Sale Certificates (FSC). According to the document, all certifications issued through the PSW-DRAP module now feature digitally verifiable QR codes, allowing real-time authentication and reducing the risk of counterfeiting. This advancement enhances supply chain transparency and regulatory compliance, and strengthens the credibility of Pakistani pharmaceutical exports in global markets, particularly in regions with strict quality standards such as the European Union and the United States. The integration also marks the completion of onboarding all cross-border Licenses, Permits, Certificates, and Other Documents (LPCOs) related to pharmaceutical raw materials, packaging components, active ingredients, and finished drug products. The initiative aligns with the World Health Organization’s Digital Health Strategy and is aimed at ensuring improved regulatory efficiency and better public health outcomes through digital transformation. According to the document, several change management sessions have been conducted with DRAP officials, pharmaceutical companies, and clearing agents to facilitate the system’s implementation. These services, currently in pilot mode, are expected to be rolled out across Pakistan by the end of May 2025 to ensure smooth adoption and operational readiness. The Ministry of Science and Technology has circulated the PSW notification to heads of major scientific, regulatory, and academic institutions, urging strict compliance with the digital export procedures. The digital gateway will continue to evolve and incorporate updates based on DRAP’s emerging needs, further strengthening Pakistan’s pharmaceutical export ecosystem.
