Sugar Price Increases By Rs. 5 Per Kg At Utility Stores
The Utility Stores Corporation (USC) has increased the price of sugar by Rs. 5 per kilogram from Rs. 140 to Rs. 145 per kg, sources informed ProPakistani. The decision follows a hike in sugar prices in the open market. Despite this adjustment, the cost of sugar at utility stores remains lower than in the open market, where prices have surged significantly. ProPakistani reported on Sunday that the price of sugar has seen a sharp increase of at least Rs. 11 per kilogram over the past three months across Pakistan. The federal cabinet recently formed a committee to evaluate the closure of utility stores across the country. The Minister for Industries and Production has been appointed to head the committee. A comprehensive report in this regard has been summoned within a week.
