2 FBR Officials Martyred in Armed Attack Near Kohat Toll Plaza
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has strongly condemned the deadly attack that claimed the lives of two of its officials, Sepoy Muqaddar Ali and Sepoy Nazar Muhammad, from the Regional Tax Office (RTO) Peshawar. According to the statement, the officials were martyred while performing their duties at a check post near Kohat Toll Plaza, established under Section 40D of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, as part of the national campaign against tax evasion. Senior officers, including the Chief Commissioner and Commissioners of RTO Peshawar, attended the funeral prayers of the martyred officials to pay their respects. The FBR expressed deep sorrow and solidarity with the bereaved families, calling the incident a cowardly act of violence aimed at undermining the country’s tax enforcement efforts. “These heinous acts will only strengthen FBR’s resolve,” the statement read, adding that the organization remains committed to its national duty of protecting state revenue and ensuring compliance with tax laws. The Board pledged full support and official assistance to the families of the fallen officials, assuring that all government benefits and entitlements would be provided without delay. “In this moment of grief, the entire FBR family stands united with the families of the martyrs,” it said, emphasizing that their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
