Adhoc Relief Funds Cannot Be Used Anywhere Else: Finance Ministry

The Finance Division has reiterated that funds allocated for Adhoc Relief Allowance (ARA) 2024 cannot be used for any other purpose. These funds are allocated/provided to meet the expenditure against Adhoc Relief Allowance 2024 under A0125E and A0121X. Finance Division (Budget Wing) issued a memorandum ‘strategy for re-appropriation and additional allocation of funds during financial year’  on Monday which stated that refer to Finance Division Budget Wing’s OM No. F.4(2)-CAO(MoF)/Strategy/4, dated 24th September 2024 on the subject cited above and to state that para 2(ii) of above referred OM is reiterated that the fund allocated for ARA 2024 cannot be used for any other purpose. The OM issued on September 24, 2024, stated that “PAOs have been provided additional funds to meet funding requirements of Ad-hoc Relief Allowance 2024 announced in the budget for CFY under a separate cost centre in each Demand for Grants and Appropriations. PAOs are, hereby, advised to re-appropriate these funds, in consultation with Expenditure Wing, Finance Division, only for the purpose of Ad-hoc Relief Allowance 2024 in quarter 3 of CFY.
