Banks to Remain Open for Extended Hours on Saturday

The State Bank of Pakistan has directed all commercial banks, including National Bank of Pakistan branches handling customs collections, to operate with extended hours on Saturday, November 29, 2025, to facilitate over-the-counter tax and duty payments. All Saturday-opening branches will remain functional from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. under the special schedule. According to the instructions, NBP branches manually collecting government receipts and payments will be required to settle their transactions with the relevant SBP-BSC field offices or head office the same day, immediately after the completion of the special clearing cycle. To enable same-day settlement, all instruments related to government payments presented on November 29 will be collected through a Special Clearing by NIFT at 5:30 p.m., with clearing results to be provided by 11:30 p.m. the same night.
