Careem to Rival Foodpanda With New “Everything App”
Careem has just ended its ride-hailing services in Pakistan as of July 18, 2025, but the company is not done here just yet. The former ride booking giant is now working on a brand new “Everything App”, which will bring food, groceries, and payment services across Pakistan. This was announced by Careem CEO Mudassir Sheikha’s latest statement. Under the newly established spinout company, Careem Technologies, the brand will continue to develop and scale its multi-service super‑app from Pakistan, building on its existing capabilities in food, groceries, payments, and more, as mentioned before. Careem Technologies currently has a team of nearly 400 employees working on the new Everything App. This team includes engineering, product, and operations staff, and remains active in Pakistan, now dedicated to expanding Careem’s vertical ecosystem. The company is currently recruiting for over 100 roles locally, part of a broader effort to support its regional product development and launch strategy. Pakistan is also the base for Careem’s Falcon / NextGen graduate program, aimed at training top university graduates in scalable systems and product engineering to support the Everything App’s growth. There are currently no finer details available on Careem’s new upcoming app, but from the hints, it sounds like a Foodpanda rival, at least in terms of food and groceries. This means we can expect to see food and grocery delivery services, and more.
