Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb has departed for Davos, Switzerland, to participate in the 55th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF), which runs from January 20 to 24 under the theme “Collaborating to Stay Ahead of the Era of Smart Technologies.”
The finance minister will engage with global political, trade, and business leaders to discuss Pakistan’s economy. He will also address challenges posed by global debt on developing economies as a panelist in a high-level discussion.
Aurangzeb will further explore the impact of artificial intelligence and automation in promoting trade and investment during another key session. His discussions will emphasize leveraging technology for fair and profitable global trade with Pakistan right in the middle of it.
The minister will hold meetings with delegations from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Qatar, including officials from international financial institutions, development organizations, and Middle Eastern investment banks. Special sessions on “Digital Pakistan” and “Investment in Pakistan,” organized by the Pathfinder Group, are also scheduled.
The finance minister will engage with international media representatives to share insights on Pakistan’s economic progress and development agenda.
The WEF 2025 gathers over 1,000 high-level participants from governments, the private sector, academia, and civil society to enhance international cooperation in economic and development sectors.
