Gold prices surged in Pakistan on Friday, reflecting gains in the international market as investors awaited key U.S. inflation data.
In the local market, 24-karat gold was sold at Rs. 444,462 per tola, marking an increase of Rs. 3,000 for the day.
The price of 24-karat gold per 10-gram also rose, reaching Rs. 381,054 after a gain of Rs. 2,572, according to rates shared by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA). Meanwhile, 22-karat gold was quoted higher at Rs. 349,312 per 10-gram.
Silver prices followed the upward trend, with 24-karat silver selling at Rs. 6,072 per tola, up by Rs. 72, and at Rs. 5,205 per 10-gram, up by Rs. 61.
On the global stage, spot gold traded near $4,219 an ounce, up $13.1 or 0.31 percent from the previous session, as investors prepared for upcoming U.S. inflation figures.
