The International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation, scheduled to arrive for budget preparation discussions, has not arrived as planned.
Sources told ProPakistani, budget preparation negotiations with the IMF will now take place online. The arrival of the IMF delegation in Pakistan for in-person discussions is now expected next week.
Initial plans indicated that budget preparation talks with the IMF delegation were to begin tomorrow. However, sources now suggest that virtual discussions will take place this week, followed by an in-person visit to Pakistan.
During the online meetings, budget proposals will be shared with the IMF. The economic team has reportedly completed its preparations for briefing the IMF.
Sources indicate that the IMF delegation will review budget preparations during these online meetings. Officials from the Ministry of Finance and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) will participate in the virtual discussions.
