Islamabad Traders Call Meeting to Resist Mandatory FBR POS Registration
The traders’ community in Islamabad has called a meeting on Wednesday, December 10, to finalize a strategy against the Federal Board of Revenue’s move to force small shops onto the point of sales system. All Pakistan Anjuman e Tajiran Chairman Ajmal Baloch told the media that traders will gather to develop a final action plan in response to what they describe as forced POS registration of businesses in the federal capital. He said the meeting will also consider stronger measures, including a shutdown strike or a protest outside the FBR headquarters. Traders are also expected to discuss issues linked to documentation, registration and the technical challenges of adopting the POS system. Ajmal Baloch said traders may announce a protest campaign or a full shutdown if the government continues pushing for mandatory POS registration without addressing their concerns.
