Pakistan and the European Union (EU) will strengthen economic cooperation through the first high-level EU-Pakistan Business Forum, set to take place on May 14-15 in Islamabad.
The forum was announced in a joint statement by the government and the EU delegation. The forum will bring together top policymakers, including the prime minister and finance and commerce ministers, alongside European and Pakistani business leaders, investors, and financial institutions such as the European Investment Bank.
Discussions will focus on key sectors, including agribusiness, energy, green logistics, pharmaceuticals, IT, and textiles. The event will also showcase the EU’s Global Gateway strategy, which seeks to mobilize EUR 300 billion in investments worldwide by 2027.
EU Ambassador Dr. Riina Kionka highlighted the growing interest of European companies in Pakistan, emphasizing that the forum will deepen bilateral trade and explore new economic opportunities. The event will also launch the EU-Pakistan Business Network, bringing together over 300 European firms operating in the country.
The forum aims to enhance the regulatory framework, facilitate trade, and promote sustainable business practices, marking a significant step in strengthening economic ties between Pakistan and the EU.
