Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday offered expanded cooperation to Iran in economic development and bilateral trade during a meeting with Iranian Parliament Speaker Dr Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf in Islamabad.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Shehbaz said both nations, long affected by terrorism, share a firm resolve to promote peace, prosperity, and regional cooperation.
The prime minister expressed deep respect for Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President Masoud Pazeshkian, reiterating Pakistan’s support for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve global disputes peacefully.
Ghalibaf thanked the Pakistani leadership and people for their support during the recent Iran-Israel conflict and appreciated Islamabad’s consistent stance on Muslim unity. He conveyed greetings from President Pazeshkian and highlighted Iran’s commitment to deepen cooperation with Pakistan, especially in trade and economic projects.
National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi also attended the meeting.
