A petrol station owner in Narowal has reduced fuel prices as a goodwill gesture for Ramadan, offering petrol at Rs. 254.24 per liter instead of the official rate of Rs. 257.24. The move, aimed at easing financial burdens during the holy month, has been widely appreciated by locals.
The owner, Rana Ashfaq, has also pledged an even bigger discount for Eid, announcing that petrol will be sold at Rs. 10 per liter less than the official rate throughout the day.
Speaking to reporters, he emphasized the spiritual significance of charity during Ramadan, stating, “Helping others brings blessings and wealth multiplies when shared.”
When asked about the impact on his business, he explained that reduced prices attract more customers and that his goal is to prioritize goodwill over profits during Ramadan. He also called on traders and authorities to lower prices on essential goods, making life easier for the public.
Meanwhile, the federal government recently announced a slight reduction in petrol prices, lowering the rate by Re. 0.50 per liter. According to a Finance Division notification, petrol is now priced at Rs. 255.63 per liter due to adjustments in global oil rates.
