PM Shehbaz to Visit Turkmenistan for Peace Forum
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will leave for Turkmenistan today on a two day official visit, according to sources. The Prime Minister will also be accompanied by a high level delegation. Sources said the Prime Minister will represent Pakistan at the International Forum on Peace and Confidence being held in Ashgabat. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and senior officials will also be part of the delegation. During the visit, PM Shehbaz is expected to hold a meeting with the President of Turkmenistan. Sources added that the Prime Minister will also meet other global leaders attending the forum. Pakistan currently exports rice, citrus and other goods to Turkmenistan and aims to expand trade and economic ties further. Both sides have also discussed enhancing transport connectivity, direct flights, and broader cooperation in energy, commerce and regional security.
