Pakistan Software Export Board has launched a training initiative to help local technology firms compete for contracts in the United States public sector.
According to PSEB, the programme will prepare Pakistani companies to enter the U.S. State, Local and Education procurement space.
The US market is valued in millions of dollars and remains largely untapped by local exporters despite its scale and long-term contract potential. A Request for Proposal has been issued to engage a qualified training provider for the effort.
The training will give firms the skills needed to identify opportunities, meet compliance requirements and build structured sales pipelines with U.S. prime contractors.
PSEB said the initiative supports national goals to raise IT exports, increase foreign exchange earnings and expand Pakistan’s access to global procurement markets.
The first batch will include fifty participants nominated by PSEB member companies.
They will receive detailed training on the U.S. procurement ecosystem, pre-sales strategy, pricing, compliance rules, outreach planning and opportunity analysis. The programme is designed to match international best practices.
A core part of the course involves simulation-based exercises that mirror real pre-bid environments in the U.S. Participants will practice drafting RFP responses, conducting compliance reviews, preparing pricing outlines and performing competitor assessments.
Those who complete all stages will be certified as SLED procurement specialists.
PSEB said the programme fits within its broader International IT Workforce Development framework, which aims to position Pakistani IT firms as credible competitors in high-value global markets.
While the training builds capacity, the board noted that final business outcomes will depend on each company’s efforts and market conditions.
