Equities ended today’s session on a negative note, with the benchmark KSE-100 index closing at 159,578 points after losing 1,704 points.
Throughout the day, the benchmark index oscillated between an intraday high of 162,052 and a low of 159,217.
According to Topline Securities, the bearish sentiment was primarily driven by the absence of fresh market triggers following the conclusion of the corporate results season.
Major index heavyweights like FFC, ENGRO, LUCK, MEBL, and SYS were the principal laggards, collectively shaving off 902 points from the benchmark.
Despite the downturn, market activity remained robust, with trading volumes surging to 859 million shares and total turnover reaching Rs. 34.8 billion.
