The benchmark KSE-100 index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) posted its second-highest single-day gain on a closing basis of over 6,000 points on Tuesday following the Iran-Israel ceasefire.
At 9:35 AM the benchmark index stood at 120,770, up 3.96 percent or 4,603 points.
At 12:50 PM it stood at 122,725, up 6,558 points or 5.6 percent.
The market closed at 122,246, up 5.23 percent or 6,079 points.
According to Arif Habib Limited, this marks the second-highest single-day increase on a closing basis in terms of points. With this, the index closed at 122,247 points.
A total of 804,779,730 shares were traded during the session so far, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs. 37.6 billion.
As many as 477 companies transacted their shares in the stock market, 407 of them recorded gains and 35 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 35 companies remained unchanged.
