Punjab Increase Salaries by 10%, Pensions up 5%
The Punjab government has approved 10 percent increase in salaries of government employees and 5 percent increase in pension of retired employees in new fiscal year 2025-26. The government has also approved 47.2 percent increase in development budget by allocating Rs. 1,240 billion. The government has also allocated Rs. 171.7 billion for foreign-funded projects, approved 5.9 percent increase in the volume of ongoing expenditure, the volume of ongoing expenditure was kept at Rs. 2,026.7 billion. As many as 5.8 percent decrease in service delivery expenditure has been observed by allocating Rs. 679.8 billion. The Punjab government has increased allocation in education sector by allocating Rs. 811.8 billion, showing increase in the provincial budget by 21.2 percent.
