The Sindh High Court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of K-Electric’s Multi-Year Tariff (MYT) petitions to December 10, as industrial consumers challenged NEPRA’s revised MYT, which imposes a retrospective fuel cost adjustment of Rs. 28 billion from FY24.
The industrial petitioners argued that the retrospective adjustment places an unmanageable financial burden on businesses whose accounts for the year had already been finalized.
Government and NEPRA lawyers requested copies of the petitions and time to submit their comments. The court directed that the interim relief granted to K-Electric earlier will remain in effect until the next hearing.
