Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has introduced a structured gas supply schedule for Lahore during Sehri and Iftar in Ramadan, aiming to ensure uninterrupted availability for residents.
As per the new timetable, households will receive gas from 2:30 AM to 8:00 AM for Sehri and from 2:30 PM to 10:00 PM for Iftar. To manage supply effectively, 100 monitoring teams have been formed to oversee distribution.
Rashid Inayat, General Manager of Lahore East, stated that these teams will operate around the clock to prevent disruptions.
Meanwhile, Karachi residents struggled with gas shortages as Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) failed to provide gas during Sehri. Many areas, including the Old City, reported unavailability, forcing people to rely on LPG cylinders.
Locals rushed to purchase cylinders early in the morning, while some accused the authorities of restoring gas only after Sehri ended. Additionally, consumers complained of price hikes in LPG cylinders and urged the government to regulate the rates.
