Seventy-two grade 18 to 20 officers, belonging to different occupational groups, have passed the written test conducted by Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) for the position of Trade and Investment Attaché in 28 foreign missions abroad.
According to details, the Ministry of Commerce tasked LUMS to conduct a written test for the positions of Trade and Investment Attaché.
72 (around 40 percent), out of the 178 civil servants, have secured 60 percent or higher marks. Among those who passed, 37 are BPS-18, 22 are BPS-19, and 13 are BPS-20 officers.
The successful candidates represent various services: 25 from the Inland Revenue Service (IRS), 19 from Commerce & Trade, 13 from the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), 8 from Customs, 3 from the Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service (PAAS), 2 from the Office Management Group, and 2 from the Economists.
Sources said that a committee under the chair of the Federal Minister for Commerce will hold interviews of these successful candidates and these officials would be posted in different missions abroad after the approval of the Prime Minister for a three years period.
