Cabinet Approves MoU to Develop Textile Parks in Pakistan
A federal cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Board of Investment and a Chinese company for collaboration in the development of textile parks. During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif addressed the cabinet and emphasized the importance of effective governance. He called for a comprehensive implementation plan following a detailed briefing on government rightsizing. The cabinet also approved an amendment to Section 3(7) of the Pakistan Telecommunication Act, 1996, which included updates on the salaries and allowances of members and the chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). Additionally, a policy for the overseas posting of Information Group officers in information sections abroad was sanctioned. The federal cabinet also approved key decisions of the Cabinet Committee on Legislation and the Economic Coordination Committee.
