CDA Completes Feasibility Study for Islamabad’s First Modern Slaughterhouse

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has completed the feasibility study for a modern slaughterhouse project in Islamabad. This marks a key step toward promoting meat exports and meeting the city’s domestic demand. The project will be developed under a Joint Venture (JV) model as part of CDA’s broader strategy to modernize the capital and attract private investment. The announcement was made during a meeting between CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa and a delegation from the Saudi company GO ARAMCO. Senior CDA officials, including Member Planning and Design Dr. Khalid Hafiz, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, and the Deputy Director General (Resource), also attended the meeting. Chairman Randhawa said the Joint Venture model is being introduced to promote investment and generate sustainable revenue streams for the Authority. He stressed that all projects are being executed in line with Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules to ensure merit and transparency. During the discussion, the ARAMCO delegation was briefed on ongoing and upcoming CDA-led initiatives. They were informed that multiple sites have been identified for potential investment, including fuel stations and infrastructure development projects across Islamabad. To move forward, special teams from both CDA and GO ARAMCO have been formed to begin practical collaboration on potential joint projects. Chairman Randhawa reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure and urban facilities, noting that private sector partnerships are vital to accelerating Islamabad’s economic and developmental growth.
