The Capital Development Authority has issued a final warning that no building or construction activity will be allowed along GT Road and Fateh Jhang Road in Zone II without prior approval of building plans, marking one of the strongest enforcement notices issued for the area to date.
The directive, issued under the CDA Ordinance 1960 and Building Regulations 2020 amended in 2023, applies to all planned and unplanned developments, including private housing schemes operating inside Zone II.
CDA has also made it mandatory for all existing structures on both major roads to undergo formal regularization.
To alert residents and builders, the Building and Housing Control Wing has placed panaflex banners at key locations across the zone.
Officials said the awareness drive is meant to prevent fresh violations by informing the public about compulsory approvals and documentation.
CDA warned that strict enforcement will now follow. Possible actions include sealing premises that lack approval, demolishing illegal buildings, imposing penalties, and cancelling utility connections and NOCs wherever necessary.
The authority stressed that this notice should be treated as the final opportunity for compliance. Developers, plot owners and residents have been urged to immediately approach the Directorate of Building Control to obtain approval or complete their regularization process.
