Donald Trump’s Envoy for Special Missions Asks Elon Musk to Bring Starlink to Pakistan

US President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for presidential envoy for special missions Richard Grenell has asked X owner Elon Musk to add Pakistan to the list of places that need Starlink internet. “Hey @elonmusk, add #Pakisan to your list of places that need Starlink,” Grenell said in a tweet on X. His tweet has so far garnered over 2.7 million views and continues to gain traction. The US politician’s remark might help Pakistan’s case for early integration of its internet services with Starlink but prior approval of the federal government is needed first. Earlier today, Minister of State for IT Shaza Fatima said Elon Musk’s Starlink Internet Services Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd. has applied for a license to operate in Pakistan. She pointed out that Starlink’s application isn’t being considered because it isn’t a registered entity with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). This could complicate things, but we’re not sure. It bears mentioning that Grenell served as ambassador to Germany during Trump’s first administration, special presidential envoy for Serbia and Kosovo peace negotiations, and also served as acting director of national intelligence.
