The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has scheduled a public hearing for August 4 to give a discount on the quarterly tariff adjustment for the April–June 2025 period.
Sources told ProPakistani that the proposed adjustments include capacity charges, transmission costs, and market fees. The total discount in power bills sought by DISCOs stands at Rs. 53.93 billion.
Among the companies, FESCO has submitted the highest adjustment request of Rs. 15.97 billion, followed by LESCO with Rs. 12.75 billion. TESCO has requested the lowest adjustment of Rs. 2.55 billion.
NEPRA has invited affected parties and stakeholders to submit their objections ahead of the hearing. Regardless of the aftermath of the hearing, any decision will likely cut electricity prices for all consumers across the country.
