FBR Increases Customs Values on Import of Peanut Butter 

Directorate General of Customs Valuation Karachi has increased customs values on the import of Peanut Butter from all origins.  The new customs values have been fixed on the import of Skippy, Jiff, American Garden Peanut Butter (Different blends/Genres) and all origin other brands peanut butter (Different blends/Genres).  According to a ruling (1973 of 2025) issued by the directorate on Thursday, the values of subject goods had not been revised since 2017. Therefore, in pursuance of analysis of import data, current market trends” the difference in market prices and customs values, an exercise for the determination of customs values of subject goods was initiated under section 25 and 25A of the Customs Act 1969.  The meeting for the determination of customs values was attended by the relevant stakeholders. Some importers had requested the inclusion of their brands, which have been imported over time as the Valuation Ruling was originally based on a brand-specific approach.
