FBR Takes Notice of Officers Assigning Additional Charges to Their Juniors
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has taken serious notice of an illegal practice in the field formation where Controlling Officers are assigning additional charges (Grade 17-20) to their junior officers without approval of the Board. According to the FBR’s instructions to the field formations here on Monday, it is unfortunate that Board is receiving receipts, whereby Controlling Officers in the field formations are still assigning additional charges to their subordinate officers contrary to the instructions circulated by the Board. In view of the above, henceforth all field formations should ensure that no additional charge is assigned to any officer without the approval of Competent Authority i.e. Appointing Authority, strictly in accordance with the instructions of the Government of Pakistan. In the future, no claim of additional charge allowance will be entertained assigned irregularly and strict disciplinary action under E&D Rules, 2020 will be initiated against the officers granting/assigning additional charges by deviating from the laid down instructions of the government. The legal impacts of such illegal Additional Charges may also be kept in mind in this regard, FBR added.
