FBR to Ban Bringing More Than One Phone Under Baggage Policy
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is set to restrict the number of mobile phones a passenger can bring to the country under the Baggage Rules. According to draft of proposed amendments in the Baggage Rules, 2006, in case of mobile phones quantity exceeding one phone other than the one in personal use of the passenger won’t be allowed. The goods brought in commercial quantity would not be released on payment of duty, taxes and redemption fine.  The FBR has asked for objections or suggestions for consideration of the Board to be sent within seven days of publication of the notification in the official Gazette.  Objections or suggestions received before expiry of the aforesaid period would be taken into consideration, FBR said in its notification.
