The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Faisalabad arrested a currency exchange dealer in Farooqabad (Punjab) on Sunday for attempting to send fake currency notes through a courier service.
The suspect had packed fake currency notes worth Rs. 200,000 for dispatch to Quetta, Karachi, and Sialkot.
The courier company detected the counterfeit cash and alerted the FIA. The agency later arrested him.
In another operation, the FIA arrested a human smuggler for illegally sending people to Spain. Authorities said the culprit had taken Rs. 4.7 million from a citizen but the victim refused to board an unsafe boat and returned to Pakistan.
Separately, Faisalabad’s Millat Town Police registered a case against a fake priest for allegedly kidnapping a girl from a Christian family and arranging a fake marriage while already a father of five.
A Minority Rights Movement (MRM) meeting had condemned the act and demanded the suspect’s arrest and the girl’s recovery.
