The first meeting of the 11th National Finance Commission (NFC) Award has been convened on August 29, with Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb chairing the session in his capacity as NFC Chairman.
According to sources, all NFC members have been invited to participate in the inaugural session, where a three-point agenda will be discussed. The meeting will review recommendations related to the new award, consider the formation of sub-groups, and finalize the roadmap for future sessions.
President Asif Ali Zardari formally constituted the 11th NFC Award on August 22, following which the Ministry of Finance issued a notification for the establishment of the NFC Secretariat.
The 11th NFC comprises nine members, with the federal finance minister serving as chairman and the finance ministers of all four provinces included as members.
