Foreign Currency Debit Card Launched for Pakistani Freelancers, Exporters

Meezan Bank has launched a Foreign Currency (FCY) Debit Card for exporters and freelancers holding an Exporters’ Special Foreign Currency Account (ESFCA) with the bank. The FCY Debit Card is powered by Mastercard. Cardholders can use the card for retail purchases worldwide, withdraw cash from Mastercard-enabled ATMs, and make cross-border payments without requiring central bank approval. The card features NFC capability for contactless payments at retail outlets. The card also offers real-time expense tracking which allows users to monitor and manage their finances. Syed Iftikhar ul Haq, Group Head – Consumer Finance at Meezan Bank stated, “Whether you’re traveling, shopping online, or conducting business internationally, the FCY Debit Card streamlines the payment process and provides a secure, efficient way to manage transactions across borders, ensuring peace of mind wherever you go.” This FCY Debit Card comes just a week after Visa (NYSE: V) announced a partnership with Meezan Bank to launch the Meezan Visa Student Debit Card. This card will be offered free of cost to Meezan Asaan Student Account holders.
