Gold Price in Pakistan Sees an Alarming Single-Day Rise
Gold prices climbed sharply in Pakistan on Tuesday, with the per tola rate reaching Rs. 436,562 after a rise of Rs. 7,700 during the day. The price for 10 grams stood at Rs. 374,281, up by Rs. 6,601, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA). On Monday, gold prices had remained stable at Rs. 428,862 per tola in the local market. Internationally, gold prices surged by $77 to $4,142 per ounce, including a $20 premium. Silver prices in Pakistan also saw a notable increase, rising by Rs. 152 to Rs. 5,422 per tola. Global gold markets continued their upward momentum on Tuesday, reaching the highest level in over a week. The rally came as dovish remarks from US Federal Reserve policymakers renewed hopes for a rate cut in December, helping gold advance despite a strong dollar. Spot gold was up 0.1% at $4,140.85 per ounce by 0457 GMT, following a 1.8% jump on Monday.
